Is KITABOO a like-for-like replacement for HighWire?
Not across the full scholarly hosting stack. Do not assume parity for journal hosting, DOI and citation workflows, COUNTER reporting, indexing or embargo handling. Evaluate KITABOO for the book and learning experience you need, and confirm any research-specific requirements separately.
How does the commercial offer work?
This publishing offer has a per-user platform fee, 0% KITABOO sales commission and included conversion. For the same licensed user and term, one book or a ten-book bundle carries the same per-user fee. The proposal defines user counting, conversion scope and any additional services. Third-party fees and taxes remain separate.
Can we migrate our existing catalogue?
We will review source files, metadata, user records, licences and integrations. Reading history, annotations and proprietary activities are not assumed to transfer automatically. Agree a pilot and migration scope before launch.
Can you help us avoid overlapping platform bills?
Share your existing contract terms and renewal date privately with our team. We can review migration concessions, billing timing and a phased transition. Any arrangement is agreed individually in the proposal.
Can we talk to a real KITABOO customer?
Ask for a 1:1 conversation with a publisher using KITABOO. Introductions depend on customer availability and consent. No migration from HighWire is implied.
